The Federal Roads and Bridges Administration (Capufe) reported that on January 24 and 25, 2026, metal structure assembly work will be carried out at kilometer 21 of the Mexico-Puebla highway. This will cause partial lane closures and a full closure of side lanes in both directions for a specific period. According to the announcement, the full closure of side lanes will take place in the early morning of January 25, from 00:00 to 02:00, with the aim of minimizing the impact on traffic. The maneuvers were scheduled exclusively during nighttime hours to reduce impacts on circulation, Capufe reported. During the closure, Capufe indicated that traffic will be diverted to the central lanes. Detours will be enabled at kilometer 20 heading towards Puebla and at kilometer 22 heading towards Mexico City, so drivers are urged to pay attention to temporary signage and exercise extreme caution in the work zone. The agency recommended anticipating travel times, reducing speed when approaching the intervened section, and maintaining a safe distance. Likewise, it asked for understanding from users, stating that these actions are part of efforts to improve infrastructure and reinforce road safety. To report any incidents or request information during the work period, Capufe made available the attention number 074 and its official account on X @CAPUFE.
